George A. Burgott

Owner

As a seasoned and well-respected litigator, George specializes in insurance defense, frequently handling major commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, product liability claims, professional liability, real estate and environmental matters.

Shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1974, George moved to Oregon where he and his wife Susan settled in the Eugene area. George joined a local law firm as an associate and worked his way up through the ranks to partner, where he enjoyed a successful practice before joining Luvaas Cobb in 2002 as a shareholder.

Admitted to practice in all Oregon state and federal courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, George is also an inactive member of the Michigan and Iowa state bars. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, Lane County Bar Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (OADC), Defense Research Institute (DRI), Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA), and the American Bar Association (ABA).

George plays tennis on a regular basis and a round of golf occasionally. He and Susan are the parents of two adult children and, being empty nesters, are now enjoying the ability to travel and sip an occasional glass of wine with family and friends.
