Oregon Law Commission Braves Auto Insurance Controversies

Surveys recent legislative repairs dealing with required liability coverage for permissive drivers of rental cars and other “self-insured” cars, UM/UIM coverage for victims of “self-insured” cars, UM/UIM coverage for injuries caused by cars insured by belated bankrupt liability insurers, the UM/UIM gap when there are matching limits and multiple claimants, the government car hole in everyone’s UM/UIM coverage, and elimination of the reduction in liability coverage for injuries to a family member or household member.
