Luvaas Cobb has long had its roots in matters of insurance. Historically an “insurance defense” firm, the firm’s lawyers gained wide experience in claims litigation and insurance coverage. Today, the firm continues to defend individuals covered by their insurance policies, but the firm’s litigation now covers a broad range of insurance disputes.

We handle declaratory proceedings to establish or to determine the extent of insurance coverage provided by a policy. Some cases include declaratory actions on multi-million dollar exposure under general liability policies issued to contractors or professionals. Other cases involve individual claims by an insured person against an insurance company.

Our lawyers work regularly with all forms of casualty insurance – general liability, auto or truck liability, homeowners coverage, excess or umbrella policies, and professional liability. On occasion, the firm has worked with disability, life, and health insurance.
