Having been born and raised here in Eugene, Troy has deep roots in the community. He is a Sheldon High School graduate and, after getting his undergraduate degree from Concordia University, he worked as a sports manager for Emerald Kidsports. He went on to law school, and after clerking for Luvaas Cobb in 2008, Troy returned to the firm as an associate attorney in 2009.
Troy is admitted to practice in the State of Oregon. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the Lane County Bar Association, and the Oregon Association of Broadcasters.
Troy spends his free time playing basketball, and he can often be spotted fishing on the Willamette River just north of town.
