Candyce L. Steward

Office Administrator

Candyce works hard to keep Luvaas Cobb moving behind the scenes by assisting the firm with marketing and practice development, technology, facilities management, human resources, insurance and benefits, the law library, and more.

“My goal is to make sure our law firm runs smoothly so our attorneys can focus on practicing law and meeting the needs of our clients efficiently and successfully,” says Candyce. She believes that “knowledge, resources and networking are the key to success” so she is actively involved with the Association of Legal Administrators, the International Legal Technology Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, the Law Practice Management Section of the Oregon State Bar and serves as a subject advisor for the Lane County Bar Association’s Computer Technology Section.

Having started her legal career over 20 years ago, Candyce obtained certifications as a Legal Secretary and in the General Principles of Property and Liability Insurance, while also taking courses at American River College. This solid foundation helped Candyce as she advanced her career as a paralegal for attorneys handling personal injury matters. She has worked for three of Oregon’s most reputable law firms, including four past Oregon State Bar presidents. She joined Luvaas Cobb in 2006 and looks forward to continuing her professional accomplishments by obtaining certification as a legal administrator.

Candyce says, “My children inspire me!” and when she is not at the office, you will find her volunteering at her kids’ schools or cheering them on at their sporting events. To the extent she has downtime, Candyce recharges herself by gardening (“mostly weeding” she quips), reading, camping, watching decorating and cooking shows (due to a secret desire to be an interior designer or top chef), or, of course, shopping!
